MVNU Writing Guide: SuperSearch

What is a SuperSearch?

There are many different ways of acquiring sources through the MVNU Library webpage, including Thorne Library materials, EBSCO databases, and OhioLink Materials. Each type of academic material has their own search engine (and their own LibGuide!) but the SuperSearch includes all of them in the same place, so it's your best bet if you just want to find material and don't care where it is from.

Check out the links below to learn about using the SuperSearch!

SuperSearch Tips

Here are some tips for successfully using the SuperSearch:

  1. When you want to find journal articles or eBooks, use the Advanced Search feature and select the "Full Text" box to make sure that you will always be able to access the sources that you find.
  2. The "Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journal" box is also useful to check when searching for journals because it filters out any materials that may not be of good quality.
  3. If you want to keep track of the materials you find, consider downloading Zotero to your computer! It's an easy-to-use application that will store all of the articles and books you need, as well as help you with citation! Click here to be taken to the Zotero guide.
